Suction Cup Showerhead

Posted in Appendix A guide vanbasco powerful PC.

The complete guide is here.

Appendix A

Updating a little driving, I can tell you Karmic on the system that works great and much better than on Jaunty. But what we are talking about today? Simply connect any instrument to the computer using the normal sound card.

Highs:

-We use our sound card without spending money for a Creative.
-one tool can be connected to the card.
-Use special sounds (of old player pianos, for example)
Defects: A rustle
-crazy, because you do not have a sound card professional
-One or maximum two instruments at a time
high-latency (I have not tried Real-time kernel, maybe it's better)
short, if you do not have to do something very "professional" this system is excellent. Let's start with the "theory".

Theory.
If we take an ordinary piano, we note that on the back are the audio outputs, which can be connected to the PC sound card with a standard 3.5 jack cable into the "Mic" or "Line". In this way, the audio (not MIDI) is made to float in the sound card that recognizes the same way that the microphone is detected. With a special program, a patch-bay, JACK control, we can tell the system to "get the sound that comes from the entrance and have it come out Mic PC speakers or amplifier jack. In so doing, we can connect our PC to the piano and at the same time we can hear the sound of vanBasco, then if we are the geeks, we can even finish everything in output to the headphones, which in turn can connect with a cable to an amplifier and create a service from the piano bar.

Practice.
Take the piano (I play that, but do not think anything serious ^ _ °) or any other musical instrument and colleghiamolo in soundcard, mic or line in jack (see photo) with a cable jack 3.5. (you can buy at any electronics store)

done, we need to open Jack, we already installed in the previous part and tell you to connect "virtually" the instrument of audio speakers, please see photo.

[Unfortunately, I can not load high-resolution images, but I think it's clear that you must click on "System" in the left column and select either signals "Capture_X" at the bottom and press "connect"]

Now, your all just transmits sound to the sound card, in fact if you try to issue a noise with your instrument you should hear it with joy in the sound system. Now start
vanbasco and Qysnth and you can sing while playing your instrument. Cool eh?

Eye, clearly needs to function properly your sound card. To find out if everything is okay, just to see if it works the microphone connected via the same power of the instrument (in the end the speaker emits a beep and then can be a tool), go under System -> Preferences -> Sound & should see under "Input Volume" the volume of notches to get up when you speak into the microphone (see photo)

If you have a professional card is a whole other story you can use the MIDI interface and " breaking bad "because the principle is totally different, MIDI transfers data, ie the score that you play with your piano and NOT beep when it comes to professional sound card, such as a Creative the score is encoded by a special software (for Linux Qsynth) and is "created" a sound at your leisure with soundfont (I use PC51f) you want, whereas with the above system can transmit only sounds that were decided on your instrument.

If you like everything revolves around the professional music world and linux you can follow the bible
